Welcome to Youth Advocates
Youth Advocates (YA) was established and registered in 2004. The organisation works in Zimbabwe as well as in East and Southern Africa. Key partners and stakeholders include regional bodies, international organizations, UN agencies, governments and communities. YA predominantly works towards creating a resilient and sustainable future for adolescent girls and boys. This is done by advancing youth’s sexual and reproductive health and rights with the aim of ensuring they attain to a productive adulthood. As a youth led institution, YA engages young people as leaders and change agents to drive development, social change, stability, and economic growth.
YA aspires for young people to be educated, engaged, and healthy. The organization also works towards creating an environment where girls are treated with dignity and respect the same way that boys are treated. A key focus of the organization’s work also focuses on respect for human rights, regardless of identity. Where crises occur, YA empowers youth so they can survive, recover, and rebuild their lives.
