Your Role
- Deliver a 90-day practical cohort for young people aged 15–35, from first day to graduation showcase.
- Run the studio as a business unit: secure orders, price work, keep sales records. Studio income is managed by Youth Advocates and reinvested in the Hub.
- Teach costing, pricing, customer care, record-keeping and workplace safety alongside the trade.
- Assess competencies and prepare trainees for trade testing or certification.
- Link graduates to jobs, attachments, buyers or start-up support.
- Mentor two top graduates per cohort as assistant trainers.
What We Need
- Trade certification (Trade Test, NFC, NC, ND, HEXCO or industry certificate). Strong informal-sector practitioners may qualify through Recognition of Prior Learning.
- At least 3 years running or working in a trade business, with evidence of paying customers.
- Experience delivering hands-on training to young people.
- Knowledge of the Chitungwiza, Seke and Harare markets.
- Police clearance and commitment to our safeguarding policy (some trainees are under 18).
What We Provide
- A paid, full-time role
- Consultancy contract per 90-day cohort, renewable on performance.
- A fully equipped studio
- Workspace and equipment at the Hope Hub, Seke–Mayambara.
- All training materials
- Materials, consumables and tools procured by Youth Advocates from your approved costed list. You pre-finance nothing.
An added advantage
Experience with vulnerable young people, women in non-traditional trades or youth start-ups. Trainers may use their own specialised tools where agreed; these remain their property.
